Enjoy thecozy moment in the bright afternoon, where is gracefully normcore with the chanson. "C’est la vie" is moaned everywhere! It is a new try for Mercure Hotel from Accor Hotels Group in France, presenting a casual and elegant stay to the great China.
In terms of space, the classical decoration is simplified, and thecolor is less intense, whichis inspired by the Italian painter, Giorgio Morandi. We intend to express afresh and modern French style. Inheriting the romantic and elegant impression of France, we use not only antique, but also lots of green plants and wooden furniture, hoping to show natural and fresh environment; however, with the combination of geometric patterns and contrasting carpets, makes the space a bit more playful.
This time, the artist, Zinan Lam, was specially invited to make a large-scale work for the lobby. Selecting Rodin's representative sculpture "The Kiss" and the French national flower iris as his graffiti element, hetangled the core wall with classical and modern images. Breaking away from the impression of traditional classicism, it is replaced by a modern collage.
The development of the Internet has made cultural exchanges faster. The direct transplantation of foreign cultures may create a sense of violation, but the pursuit of life style is without borders.
